Master in Insurance & Risk Management

The insurance industry (Master in Insurance & Risk Management graduates’ main outlet) continues to grow. Insurance company profits have increased across all European markets; in 2006, average growth was at 3% (Source ANIA).

All of the major companies in the industry are adding to their employee base and are looking for qualified candidates.

Only two months from graduation of the last edition of Master in Insurance & Risk Management  (February, 2006), 100% of our graduates had found a professional position which met their expectations.

In spite of this impressive record, Career Services manages to fill only 60% of the demand from various companies hoping to fill positions with our graduates. With this in mind, it is clear that admission to the MIRM programme is a positive career strategy for all participants!

The Master in Insurance & Risk Management career path develops through class experience, the company internship and consulting with Career Services, which operates as an intermediary between candidates and companies, creating professional opportunities for participants and helping companies find the perfect candidate for their needs.

Career Services, in collaboration with an assigned career counsellor, helps candidates recognize their own potential, define and set goals, and develop skills required by a competitive job market. Each participant receives individual support during and after their master.

Coaching: individual meetings to discuss preparation and motivations. Individual themes are addressed such as writing an efficient resume, preparation for job interviews and communication skills; self confidence: necessary aspects for approaching the corporate world.
Counselling: individual meetings to define career objectives. Career Service mentors the participant in defining professional aptitudes. Together they define a professional path so that the candidate will be better able to distinguish the type of company that best responds to his or her characteristics and to his or her personal needs. This decision helps calibrate the successive phases of contact with companies.

Organization of presentations and on-campus recruiting days. At the school or at company offices, company representatives explain work methods and career possibilities and explain skills and abilities necessary for different business roles. After the presentation, representatives from companies meet the candidates for preliminary selection interviews.

Résumés to companies and job postings. The collaboration between Career Service and a large network of sponsor companies and partners encourages a continuous exchange of information as well as the possibility to get the word out quickly about open positions compatible with participant requests.
