Master in Insurance & Risk Management

Master in Insurance & Risk Management has a maximum of thirty (30) openings, selected using a rigorous evaluation process.
Because of the high number of applications from all over the world, application screening and the selection process start in February and finish in November.

Master begins on January 12, 2010.

Deadline for applications: 30 December, 2009 (EU Citizens), 20 December 2009 (non EU Citizens).


How to Apply
To apply for the MIRM program, the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM or the PDF application form must be completed and sent to boscolo@mib.edu, or fax to +39 040 9188.112.

Feedback on applications will be supplied within one week. Successful applicants will be asked to send a number of required documents. Once the documentation is approved, candidates are invited to come for selection tests and an interview in Trieste. International students may ask to be selected in their own country without coming to Trieste. 

After you have completed your application, you will hear from MIRM staff.

Entering the Classroom

Selection

Requirements for selection are the following

  • University Degree (exceptions only on rare occasions) 
  • Excellent English proficiency
  • Strong personal motivation
Applicants will receive written feedback on the outcome of pre-selection and will be requested to submit the following documentation:
  • Degree certificate
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A certificate demonstrating adequate knowledge of English such as TOEFL
  • A deductive reasoning test score such as GMAT
  • Any other relevant documentation (such as other languages certificates or professional courses attended)
Alternatively to TOEFL and GMAT the School reserves the right to ask the applicant to take its own tests. The knowledge of English is verified as well during the motivational interview. 

There is no a minimum score required for the GMAT or TOEFL.The GMAT code of the MBA is PTX-VZ-37. The TOEFL code is 0100.

Applicants who have already taken these tests are invited to have results sent to the school. 

Applicants receive written feedback on the outcome of pre-selection. If all admission requirements are met, the applicant is invited to the school in Trieste for admissions tests and an interview.

 

Admissions tests and interviews 
Admissions Interviews are divided into:

  • numerical critical reasoning test
  • abstract critical reasoning test
  • oral Interview

They may be conducted by phone in the case of applicants residing abroad.

In the case of a positive outcome, the applicant may register for the course and start the procedure for joining the class.
