International Master in Tourism & Leisure - Interview

"It is thanks to International Master in Tourism & Leisure that I started at Costa Crociere and feel I achieved what I wanted. It is a real experience, hard and intense work. From day one I felt part of a team and understood that my contribution was important. Coming out of a Master's program of this level gives me a certain level of responsability: colleagues have high expections for me because of the competencies that I gained. I realize that the technical and personal preparation that I got from the IMTL were key for defining my professional future. What else could you ask for in an internship?

There’s no better sign to demonstrate that you are in the right place than waking up in the morning and thinking that you are off to your office where you’re actually doing the job of your dreams!! This is how I feel since I have started my internship at Costa Crociere. My tutor is a very experienced, professional and nice person: she is teaching me so many useful things! I work in a friendly and relaxed environment. There is always a lot to do in the department where I am, but the days pass by easily because, with my colleagues, we have such a great time! I have been warmly welcomed since the first day. I have been given many important responsibilities and I feel they trust me a lot. I really hope to have the opportunity to stay in this company after the internship, but, if it won’t be possible, I can still say I haven’t wasted my time."

International Master in Tourism & Leisure - Interview
"I did my period of internship in the Marketing and Sales Department of "Orient-Express Hotels", in Milan. I worked closely with the Marketing Regional Director, Mr. Andrea Filippi, who participates in International Master in Tourism & Leisure for a very interesting Marketing class. Since the first meeting he transmitted to me his passion for his job and for the hospitality sector. I have to say that In the beginning it is really hard: you feel frustrated because you think you can not do it and you feel like it's not as you expected it. But the best approach is trying to get as much as you can from people working with you and especially from your tutor, learning from them even just watching at their way of working, showing you are helpful and willing, and being patient: your moment will arrive... At the end my moment arrived and now I can say I'm really satisfied with my choice: I worked with great professionals; I saw the hotel world closer; I learnt a lot, about the work, and mainly about myself and about how to behave in certain situations. Andrea Filippi has been a good tutor for me, also when rebuking me and criticising my work, he taught me to be careful and precise, and to ask, ask, ask. But finally the main teaching I received from my internship is: be always positive, enthusiastic and patient, and never give up to chase what you really want for your future!" Posso finire con un bel "You can do it!!???"
