MIB and its International Master in Tourism & Leisure - IMTL have been chosen to manage training activities into the Asian Tour Project, focused on developing human resources skills in designing and managing tourism products in emerging tourism markets, as Mongolia, Vietnam and Nepal.

The project is supported by European Commission, with the aim of promoting direct business co-operation between Europe and Asia in the tourism sector.

 

The IMTL played a crucial role, as the first international programme in Italy focused on tourism and the only accredited by ASFOR e UN WTO.

The master is addressed to graduates interested in pursuing an international career in tourism and offers exciting managerial and entrepreneurial opportunities, with a placement rate nearing 100%.

Asian Tour Project

About Asian Tour 

Main Objectives: 

• development of Asian sustainable and diversified tourism products coherent to the socio economic local system
• enhancing the Asian competences and strategies in exporting quality and sustainable tourism on international market
• technical assistance in capacity building of three Asian Partner Countries (Nepal, Mongolia, Vietnam) tourism sector through human resources development and synergic international cooperation 

Main Actions:


Phase 1. Preparatory activities:
• Analysis of the tourism sector in Mongolia, Nepal and Vietnam 

Phase 2. Capacity building activities:
• training courses organization and implementation in Nepal, Mongolia and Italy
• selection of trainee and participants to the mission in Nepal and Mongolia
• seminar on Asian tourism opportunities in Italy
• 5 days mission (workshop+matchmaking+educational tour) in Nepal and Mongolia 

Phase 3. Follow up actions
• technical assistance to the participants for further international business cooperation
• dissemination of Project Final Results. 

Direct and indirect beneficiaries:
• a total of 65 Asian participants, representatives of tourism SMEs, intermediary business organization (IBO) and local institutions;
• 15 representatives of Asian IBO for training and internship in Italy and Slovenia
• 20 representatives of Italian and 10 of Slovenian SMEs/IBO for 5 days mission in Nepal and Mongolia
